Valentino Spring 2027 finds room for colour
Alessandro Michele moves from a pared-back black bustier and skirt to saturated pink and green. Three looks show how a defined cut holds the colour in place.

Alessandro Michele staged Valentino’s Spring 2027 show in Paris’s Bibliothèque Sainte-Geneviève. The setting was full of books, but the clothes are clearest when read through a smaller question: how much can be added before the shape of an outfit disappears?
A quiet starting point
Look 1 offers an answer in black. A bustier with clearly drawn cups meets a light, knee-length skirt. With no competing colour, the change of texture becomes the point of interest. The skirt falls softly beneath a closely fitted upper half.
Look 8 turns up the volume. A bright pink bustier sits above a green skirt, with feathers concentrated at the hem. The colours are equally assertive, yet the skirt keeps a straightforward shape. The feathers change its edge without obscuring the rest of the outfit.
Colour held in place
In look 15, two belts pull a glossy green jacket in at the waist. A gathered pink skirt swells below it, shifting the volume from shoulder to hem. This combination asks more of the eye, but its construction remains legible. Across these three looks, Michele’s appetite for colour and ornament is still there; the cut gives it somewhere to land.
