Marni: checks and contrasts

Marni presented its Spring/Summer 2027 collection in Milan on 24 September 2026. This is a close reading of three looks already selected for C33’s Instagram, rather than an account from inside the show.

Colour changes the balance

In the checked look, orange boots interrupt the yellow of the dress. They draw the eye downwards and give a familiar pattern a different weight. The interest lies in that encounter: neither colour has to fill the entire silhouette to become decisive.

The orange top and khaki skirt take another route. A bright upper half meets a quieter lower half, but the contrast is also a matter of shape. Looking at the outfit as separate pieces misses the space and proportion created between them.

The burgundy look with a flash of yellow makes a useful comparison. Here a smaller area of colour changes the way the darker surface is read. Across these three selections, it is the placement of colour, as much as its intensity, that holds attention.

The three outfits use bright colour in different proportions: a pair of boots, a top, a smaller accent against burgundy. Seen together, they show how much a look can change depending on where that colour sits.
