Gucci’s The Store Show: collars, hems and proportion

Gucci called its Spring 2027 presentation in Milan “The Store Show”. Rather than retell the entire collection, we returned to three looks from the C33 Instagram selection to see what happens at the points where one garment meets another.

A fitted opening

The opening look pairs a shaped dark jacket with a white shirt, white trousers and high black boots. The jacket closes at the waist and finishes just above the trousers. The raised shirt collar makes the line sharper still; the boots give the otherwise light lower half a firm end.

Look 31 reverses that balance. A broad green jacket sits over a dark skirt, with white socks and pointed shoes below. Its sleeves and shoulders take up space, while the exposed socks draw attention to a much smaller area at the ankle.

Leave the shirt out

In look 32, a pale shirt extends below a dark jacket and above a red tartan skirt. The visible hem interrupts what might otherwise read as a neat jacket-and-skirt pairing. The skirt, shirt and jacket each keep their own length.

These outfits do not rely on a single repeated silhouette. The common thread is the way collars, hems and footwear decide where the eye pauses.
